Hey there–

I never know how to introduce myself to people. I would love to call myself a musician. Itching doubts in my head call that overstatement. Lately, I’ve been doing it anyway.

Hi, my name is Jayla. I am a musician.

In my music, and in my life, I’ve been trying to own everything I do. I am working on letting my emotions blow open and up in my songs. I am past filters, and that feels really good.

Here is a sampling of some of my current work. It is ever-changing and reflects me and all the rich music culture that I’ve been exposed to from before me.

I live in the Hudson Valley in upstate New York, and go to community college part-time instead of high school. I started writing songs a few years ago. Songwriting has become really important to me, and as silly as it is to admit, I really want people to hear my music. I love the idea that I can have an impact beyond who I can meet in a lifetime. I want to share the way I feel when I’m living, being and creating. I want to be heard.
